Sometimes, we find the unexpected in front of us, and it will startle us. Sometimes, it will make us laugh; or maybe we will be in awe. But it’s unique enough that it always demands we take a second look.
When I realized I had several photos meeting these criteria, I decided to step out of writing and create stories visually this week. I hope some or all grab your attention for just a moment.
Do you have any double-take photos?
Wow…those pics of the clouds! I saw the bird in the first one…reminded me of a bathtub rubber ducky! And the “do you believe” pic? How could I not? Can I say wow – again?
And thank you for the giggle about the pineapple making an escape. Too funny.

I’m going to start with the origami photo because I am so drawn to it. In the Japanese culture, origami cranes represent good luck and happiness, so family members start to make them months in advance to hang as wedding decor. My nephew married into a Japanese family and as a result, we get to be part of some beautiful customs. And the one cloud photo that looked like a tidal wave made my heart drop, until I got it, haha. Do I have double-take photos? Yes, but also for a different reason. One embarrassing part of my photo collection is many are tossed haphazardly into a box. I know better than to do that since my memory isn’t what it used to be. I should at least label the back, but too often I toss them in the giant box when cleaning up without doing so. Years later, I’ll look back. Sometimes the photos are double-take worthy. Unfortunately, too many times my mind says, where was this?
What an interesting take on the double-take, Pete! Yes, we have to look again because we can’t quite recall the year or location behind the photo. Labeling is the answer, and yet I don’t do it either, haha. And it only takes a minute at the time we’re cleaning up!!! Thanks, Pete.

I can understand why you’re always looking because something fantastic might form. And that’s the thing too. They don’t last for more than a minute, so we have to be alert when they happen. 😊
